How do I make an appointment?

Call our office 219-961-4357 and request to make an appointment. We will take it from there.

How long is an appointment?

Individual sessions with an advocate lasts 45-50 minutes. Our support groups last 1.5 hours.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes, unless you disclose the intent to bring harm to self or others.

Is advocacy the same as counseling?

The Fair Haven Staff members are neither licensed counselors nor licensed therapists. The suggestions and instruction received should not—and are not encouraged—to be a replacement for professional counseling.

Our goal is to provide you with insights and tools needed to move beyond trauma, limiting beliefs and behaviors using a process that focuses on mind, body and spirit restoration.

How much does it cost?

All of our services are provided to the community free of charge. We are here to help.

Can I see an Advocate today?

If you call and make a request to be seen today, we will make every effort to make that happen. However, most clients requesting individual services can be seen within 24 hours.

How long will it take before I feel better?

It takes as long as it takes. Healing is a journey, not a destination. Here, we take it one step at a time and trust in the process.

I have a friend who needs services. Can I call and make an appointment for her?

No. your friend must call us and request services. You can support her, but let her do the talking.

If my friend calls and makes an appointment, can I come with her?

We encourage each client to have a good support system for this journey! Good for you for being just that. However, the counseling sessions are for the individual seeking services. Our suggestion: give her the encouragement to go and meet her afterwards for coffee!

Do you prescribe medication?

No. We do not have a psychiatrist on staff.
