Natalie was born and raised in the South Suburbs of Chicago in a town called Chicago Heights. She originally attended SIUe with plans to major in Psychology and double minor in Art and Spanish. However, she changed her plans after finding out the hard way she wasn’t as artistic as she initially thought she was.
Natalie then decided to move home, which became Northwest Indiana, in August of 2014. She attended Purdue University Northwest and graduated in May of 2018 with her Bachelors of Arts in Foreign Language with a specialty in Spanish, and in August of 2018, she received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology.
Throughout her educational journey, Natalie first interned at The Grace Hill Settlement House in St. Louis, Missouri, working with head start students who came from Spanish speaking households. She helped them perfect their English and while also helping communicate with their parents on the program’s behalf. Natalie also interned at The Caring Place Inc. in Valparaiso, Indiana in where she worked with victims of domestic violence. It was there that she noticed how simply speaking with and listening to the women and children tell their story, made a huge difference in their healing process.
Those wonderful internship experiences along with life experiences, motivated Natalie to seek her calling which she found here at Fair Haven. Natalie hopes to help those impacted by their traumatic events in every way she can. Her goal is to accomplish this by being the believer they deserve, with the optimism that one day current victims, will become survivors.
On her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her fiancé and family, reading, watching Netflix, and just enjoying the simple things in life.
