Becca Emerson

Becca has been a resident of Lake County her entire life. She grew up, and still resides, in Hammond. She will be graduating from Purdue University Northwest in December with her bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Services, and her specialization is Child and Family Studies. While she began her college career in the nursing program, she decided half way through that it wasn't for her and decided to change her major on a whim. She truly believes this was God's plan all along, putting her on the path to find her true passion in life.

After working at the local Aurelio's for six years, she finally dove head first into her career, working as a Children's Activity Aide at St Jude House, a domestic violence shelter located in Crown Point. There is where she was introduced to Fair Haven Center for Women.

Becca began volunteering on the Beacon of Hope Team July of 2015, and this is when she found her avenue for life. After a year of volunteering, the position of Community Outreach Advocate opened up. Finding a position that was an even balance of crisis intervention with victims and community outreach within Lake County was a dream come true.

Becca is the mother of two beautiful children, 1 fur-child, and has been with her fiancé for 10 years. She is devoted to her family and friends, and lives life to the absolutely fullest.
