Raquel Mentor was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in an impoverished neighborhood, she knew she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. After graduating from high school, she moved to Michigan, where she studied Elementary Education, and graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Raquel continued to teach in various states, and different schools in the Midwest. She taught the full range of grades, from Kindergarten through tenth grade. After completing her third year as a teacher, she decided to explore different horizons. She came upon Fair Haven, where she knew she wanted to continue impacting students and families positively.

When she isn’t enjoying a relaxing moment with some ginger tea, Raquel loves all things nature. Hiking, road biking, camping, and kayaking are her hobbies of choice.  She worked at a summer camp for the last three years, and continues to go camping whenever she gets the chance. She also loves all things stationary, journaling, and art.

Currently, Raquel lives in Lake County with her wonderful husband and their cat. Together, they enjoy traveling across the United States, and playing music.
